#1 Samsung Galaxy Buds 2
Samsung’s latest entry into the realm of truly wireless earbuds is the Galaxy Buds 2 and it’s easily one of the best listening devices you can buy in the category. Not only did we rate these as the most comfortable truly wireless earbuds we’ve reviewed. They’re also some of the best-sounding.
These well-balanced dynamic speakers come with three on-bud microphones and two Galaxy Buds 2. And that’s coupled with tuning by world-reknowned, Samsung-owned AKG.
Samsung’s second-gen wearable was a stunning, bean-like design, Ambient Sound audio passingthrough, ANC, as well as a respectable battery life. The stunning new design is not the only thing that impresses. With many options for personalization, you can choose from Graphite or Lavendar colors, Olive, or White.
#2 Sony WF-1000XM4
Sony has finally revamped its WF-1000XM3 truly wireless earbuds with another that’s sure to be the best ever from the company. The Sony WF-1000XM4. While the branding here isn’t the most memorable mouthful, these are widely considered to be the best headphones money can buy.
A large part of this is built-in AI assistant accessibility, including Alexa, new connectivity standards, world class noise cancelation and other features. But, as the branding would suggest, that and audio quality are better than ever with the latest version of Sony’s headphones.
A new feature is added to this, along with IPX4 water resistance, and an enviable battery lifetime. Sony has added a feature that lowers the volume of audio when you talk to it. So you don’t ever have to miss out on a conversation just because you’re music’s a bit too loud.
And all of that is packed into a great design that’s comfortable to wear for hours on end.
#3 Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 2
Sennheiser is a brand that, when talking about the best audio — truly wireless, headphones, earbuds, or otherwise — requires no introduction. The company is committed to audiophile sound quality and has a strong focus on that goal. So the appearance of Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 2 on this list shouldn’t come as a surprise.
Presently on sale, from $299 to under $220, these buds don’t just sound great and feature top-tier design. The buds come with an app to customize audio and features, more adapter tip sizes than other competitors for a perfect fit and comfortable, ANC and fast charging.
The battery life is also going to be among the best. Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless2 is the best option for audiophiles.
#4 Jabra Elite 3
With a claimed “up to” 7 hours of battery life and reports of up to a couple of hours longer, Jabra Elite 3 will easily be the best truly wireless earbuds for battery life. There isn’t anything else that comes close. Jabra has established that fact with its 28-hours of playback via the charging case and 10-minutes charging which equals to an hour’s worth of listening.
One-touch Spotify playback and AI Assistant support are the icing on top. Jabra Sound+ adds an extra benefit. This allows users to adjust the EQ to achieve a better balance and support for displaying frequencies they prefer.
That’s without stacking in a noise-isolating, brand-worthy design, 2 mics on each bud for better call quality, and their low price point. So you’d be hard pressed to find a better value overall.
#5 Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro
There’s a new “best” in the world of truly wireless earbuds. That’s at least for the buds that will fit your new Samsung Galaxy smartphone. Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro are those, of course. Galaxy Buds Pro was announced alongside the Samsung Galaxy S21 in Jan. It offers Active Noise Cancellation, audio passing Ambient Sound mode, as well as many other improvements over previous Galaxy Buds.
These truly wireless earbuds offer a few extras to Samsung Galaxy owners. This is due in part to the Galaxy Phones app. And they’re easily some of the best on the market right now in terms of audio quality.
Best of all, they’re only $199.99 on Amazon and elsewhere. They come in premium colors to match the Galaxy S series smartphones. Available in Phantom Silver, Violet and Black colors.
